Refuse to be Passive

Other Writers

Sometimes I am very envious of people who can write really well. I’m sure you know the type. Every word they punch on the keyboard is the right word for the context. Sentences flow seamlessly from their fingers with no apparent thought, yet read like poetry. While you are reading, you crave for the next sentence.
I wish I could write like that. Now, I’m not saying that I’m a horrible writer, but I’m definitely not the kind the develops a real following. I’m not the kind that often hears, “wow, that was fascinating” or “that was really well written.” No, I’m not fishing for compliments here, and if you give them, I probably won’t believe you anyway, so don’t bother. I just wanted to put out there that really fantastic writing is such a joy to read. I wish I could create that joy, but I don’t quite have it.
